BASEBALL NEWS:
You Post 223 American Legion Baseball team is
gearing up for yet another exciting season set to begin on Sunday
June 6 with a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 at Chandler Field. A
Color Guard from the Post will begin the season with a formal
ceremony beginning at 3:45 sharp. Our team which will feature a
minimum of ten returning veteran players from last year, is expected
to be among the top competing teams in our District 10 this year.
Head Coach Ryan Kane returns to lead the squad along with Assistant
Coach Anthony Lauretto. Last year’s team in a year of rebuilding
fielded a full roster of 18 players consisting of public and private
high school residents of Duxbury and Marshfield. Playing
competitively and abiding with the American Legion Baseball Code of
Sportsmanship, your team finished with a record of 9 wins and 11
losses, just missing a playoff berth. General Manager Pete
Bizinkauskas promises that much excitement lies ahead for this
year’s season. Please note the schedule below, which also will be
available at the Post.
